In 2013 my father died after a brief but harrowing battle with brain cancer. It was also five days before my brother’s wedding. Watching my brother and sister-in-law get married days later (albeit in a significantly different way) was a profound lesson on the bittersweet reality of life –good things happen right alongside the bad. Meaning and purpose can be found in holding both at the same time.

While I had already been in the event industry for years, losing my dad changed everything for me – my approach to my work and life overall. Shortly after, I left the glamorous world of NYC events to create a new way of doing things in Portland, Maine based in the belief that events don’t need to impress people, they need to make them feel good.

Life has taught me that there are so many experiences we don’t get to choose, and the world can be unpredictable and challenging – so when we get the opportunity, the choice, to gather and celebrate we should do so excellently. That’s why SRS Event Design goes beyond the industry standard, through intentional design & meaningful connection so that so every element of your event feels uniquely yours, genuinely resonant, and thoughtfully executed.

I have over twenty years of experience planning and producing events ranging from small scale private functions to large, multi-day gatherings. A few highlights include:

A seated dinner in an abandoned NYC subway station.

Erecting a temporary venue to accommodate 600 people; three meals a day, for four days, on the side of a mountain.

Creating a summer camp experience for 450 gala attendees.

A progressive party unveiled over three floors of a city-block sized warehouse.
